"Get Back To Black!" Black Mountain of Maine offers affordable Alpine skiing and snowboarding, Nordic skiing and tubing, to both residents and visitors, as it has for over four decades. Black Mountain is the chosen venue for many Alpine and Nordic races each year and has hosted numerous national cross country skiing championships. In 2004, Black Mountain was purchased by the Maine Winter Sports Center, a non-profit organization with its goal of re-establishing skiing as a lifestyle in Maine. MWSC is helping to further develop and improve Black Mountain. Black Mountain of Maine offers a 1150-foot vertical drop with 20 trails served by 4 lifts, expert snowmaking and grooming, a terrain park with a half pipe, the "Edge" tubing park, top-to-bottom lighting for night skiing and tubing, a full-service rental and retail shop, ski lessons, one of Maine’s most beautiful lodges, affordable food and beverages, the popular Last Run Lounge and one of the only fully-paved parking lots you’ll find at any ski area in Maine. Black Mountain of Maine is also proud to be the nation’s first tobacco-free ski area. Come see why people are saying they want to “Get back to Black!”
