"Angus, King of the Mountain" History
The Bethel Area Chamber of Commerce and citizens of the Bethel area have bested their own Guinness record which they accomplished with "Angus, King of the Mountain, the World’s Tallest SnowMan" in 1999.

Olympia was built in the same location as her predecessor, Angus.

  • He stood 113 feet 7 inches tall,
  • weighted 8,000,000 pounds,
  • sported 5-foot fir wreath eyes,
  • 6-foot nose,
  • 25-foot spruce tree arms,
  • mouth made of 5 automobile tires,
  • three skidder-tire buttons and
  • 100 foot long multi-colored fleece scarf.
It was time to resurrect the spirit of winter that was so evident in 1999 when Angus was built. Many of the same people have stepped forward to make this feat possible once more.
