World's Tallest SnowWoman is coming to town!
Construction is scheduled to begin on January 28, 2008 with the snow-making process. Make plans to come to Bethel often to watch the progress!
Angus, King of the Mountain, the World’s Tallest Snowman, will be morphed a bit by the building of the even taller World’s Tallest SnowWoman.
She will be built in the same location as her
predecessor in 1999.
Angus was built in a vacant lot between Cross Street and the Bethel Parkway.
(See his picture on the right)
- He stood 113 feet 7 inches tall,
- weighted 8,000,000 pounds,
- sported 5-foot fir wreath eyes,
- 6-foot nose,
- 25-foot spruce tree arms,
- mouth made of 5 automobile tires,
- three skidder-tire buttons and
- 100 foot long multi-colored fleece scarf.
It is time to resurrect the spirit of winter that was so
evident in 1999 when Angus was built. Many of the same people have stepped
forward to make this feat possible once more. Stay tuned for more
