Conference: "The Grange in Maine"

The conference will feature a Friday evening session (preceded by a meal), which will include an overview of the history of the Grange in Maine and a keynote presentation entitled "From the Fair to the Laboratory, and Back Again?: The Intersection between Agricultural Community and Scientific Research,” by Thomas J. On Saturday, September 13, a continental breakfast will be followed by three presentations on (1) women and the Grange, (2) the rise and decline of Lewiston Grange #2, and (3) Grange halls as icons on the Maine landscape. Conference participants will then drive to Lakeside Grange #63 in Harrison for lunch, which will be followed by an open meeting of the Grange and a panel discussion on the history and future of the Grange in Maine.

The registration fee is $45.00 for the entire two-day conference (including meals) and $30.00 for either the Friday or Saturday sessions.
