Maine Handicapped Skiing is a year-round adaptive recreation program for children and adults with physical disabilities. MHS provides free lessons in downhill and cross country skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing in winter and canoeing, kayaking, cycling and golf in the summer. MHS provides lessons at 4 locations in winter; Sunday River Ski Resort, Sugarloaf/USA, Sunday River Inn and XC Ski Center and Pineland Farms. Summer programs are located throughout central Maine and the greater Portland area.
In 2005, MHS provided 6700 hours of free lessons, both winter and summer. Volunteers are the foundation of Maine Handicapped Skiing, with over 350 volunteers giving their time, expertise and passion to our participants.
Hours: 8am to 5 pm Sunday through Saturday
