It's spring cleaning time!
Join the Bethel Conservation Commission Saturday, May 7, for Bethel's fourth annual Green-Up Day. This is an opportunity for groups and individuals to work together to clean up our public places.
We will gather at 9:00 a.m. at Davis Park and Newt's Landing to pick up trash bags and choose specific areas to clean in the parks, along local roads, etc. Then we will disperse to pick up trash and redeemable bottles and cans. A group will also meet at Mt. Will to perform trail work. At about 11:30, we'll return to Davis Park to see how much we've picked up, take a group photo, partake of refreshments and celebrate a job well done!
The Conservation Commission will provide safety vests, trash bags, water and Energy Cookies. You will need gloves, sturdy shoes, and clothing suitable for a sometimes dirty activity and the weather. If it's raining, we'll try again May 14th, same time, same station.
If you would rather clean the streets and roads near you, please tell Jessie Perkins at the Bethel Area Chamber of Commerce—824-2282 or firstname.lastname@example.org—so the Commission can know that you are helping and where.
Organized by the Bethel Conservation Commission in cooperation with Mahoosuc Pathways and Mahoosuc Land Trust.
Rain date: May 14
