Gould Academy Science Symposium
The first annual Gould Academy Science Symposium will take place on May 25 at 7:00 PM in Bingham Auditorium and Bingham Gym.
Students from AP Physics and the Research Methods in Science course will present their work in Bingham Gym starting at 7:00 PM. Several student are coming off successful showings at the Maine State Science Fair (MSSF), including David Song, who took first place at the MSSF. Topics include: Design and Analysis of Rocket Engine Nozzles; Investigation of Yeast Growth Rates Under Various Conditions; Poly Hexamethyl Guanosine (PHMG) as a Potential Culprit in Pulmonary Fibrosis; and Smart Road Signs: Can Bluetooth LE Technology be Used to Reduce Pedestrian Danger Due to Cell Phones?
Following the presentations there will be a poster session in Bingham Gym featuring students from AP Biology, AP Statistics, AP Physics, AP Chemistry, and Biology courses. Refreshments and a chance to discuss projects with students and faculty will follow the event.
