Workshop: 10 Steps to Building a Successful, Simple Social Media Strategy with Abbie McGilvery
Workshop #1: 10 Steps to Building a Successful, Simple Social Media Strategy
In this workshop, Social Media Strategist Abbie McGilvery of From the Nest will touch on 10 topics small business owners need to be aware of when they are planning a social media campaign. She will help you gain a robust understanding of what a social media campaign really is, how to plan a campaign efficiently, and how to manage your social media schedule and content in an organized, simple way. You will walk away with the knowledge (and the magic tricks) you need to make your social media campaigns more successful and rewarding! In this workshop you will learn to:
- Create a VERY specific call to action (such as “attend this event” or “buy this service”) and tell them exactly how to “do” that action.
- Use HootSuite. (This will be a very basic discussion, not a detailed “how to use HootSuite” – we need a whole 3 hour workshop for that!)
- Connect Instagram with Facebook and Twitter so they all work magically together.
- Use Google Drive to manage your content from any device. (This will be a brief overview. The afternoon workshop will provide more information about Google Drive.)
- Set up your social media schedule as a spreadsheet
- 5 simple tips for making it all easier
- A campaign "template" to use for planning your next big marketing campaign
- Your Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter channels successfully connected to one another
- An understanding of how to collect, store, and manage content more effectively for distribution on social media channels
Abbie helps individuals and organizations get focused on their marketing goals, plan for growth, and figure out how to best use their authentic voice to match their products or services with their audiences’ needs and desires. She’s been called a Marketing Maven and a Networking Expert, but prefers to think of herself as a creative “social media scrapbooker” with a focus on helping business owners and organizations build brand visibility and tell their stories on social media channels. Working one-on-one, she serves as an adviser, guide, and mentor for the people she works with. She enjoys speaking, bringing together groups of brave people, inspiring others to tell their stories out loud, and watching creative people SHINE!
