Getting Here

Bethel is Closer Than You Think!
Most people arrive in Bethel in their vehicle…and it is easy to get here!
From
the greater Boston area, take Interstate 95 north to the Maine
Turnpike, at mile 63, take Exit 63, which is Gray, Maine.
(NEW for 2006: Easier to get to Rt. 26 north when you get off at Exit 63 --
it's well marked -- says Rt. 26A to 26 -- this new bypass avoids the
busy intersection in downtown Gray!).
Then follow Route 26 north for approx. 50 miles. Bethel is located at the intersection of Route 26 and Route 2, which is the major northern New England east/west highway corridor.
For those needing to arrive by commercial airplane, the most convenient airports are the Portland International Jetport (PWM) or Manchester, New Hampshire Airport (MHT). You’ll find all the major car rental agencies at both airports or call Northeast Charter & Tour for door-to-door transportation services.
For those who own their own airplanes, the Bethel Regional Airport has a 3,818 foot long, 75 foot wide paved runway where Visual Flight Rules apply. This facility is open year-round and offers tie-downs, engine heater plug-ins, hangar storage, waiting lounge and a self-serve fuel system. For the latest airport conditions, contact the Bangor Flight Service at 800.722.0314 or the Bethel Town Office at 207.824.2669.
