Mahoosuc Guide Service

Year-round guide service offering fully outfitted canoeing and dogsledding trips in Maine, New Hampshire, and northern Quebec. All trips are owner guided by Registered Master Maine Guides. Some women-only trips and some cross cultural trips with Cree and Inuit guides. Wholesome, nutritional food.

Polly and Kevin have over 30 years experience leading trips in the outdoors from Maine to Alaska to northern Quebec and Baffin Island to Peru and Scotland. Our love for the outdoors and meeting new people show in our style of outdoor trip leading. To further enhance the quality of the trips, we build our own wood canvas canoes, paddles, setting poles, and ash dogsleds in our woodshop. This gives an added personal touch not to mention they are more pleasurable to use.

Our dogs are Yukon huskies. Their lineage originally came from the Yukon Territory in Canada where Polly lived for 10 years. We raise all of our dogs from puppies and keep them until they pass on. Our kennel size is usually about 40 dogs.

We also have accommodations on the property for stays before or after our trips. Many of our trips take place in Lake Umbagog National Wildlife Refuge which is about a 10 mile north of us. (See listing under Mahoosuc Mountain Lodge.)
