Black Mountain of Maine is owned by the Maine Winter Sports Center. Located in Rumford, Black Mountain offers affordable downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, and snowboarding. It has also been the site of a number of world and national cross-country skiing championships over the years. Recent changes at Black Mountain are a gorgeous lodge, expanded trails, snowmaking, lights, and a new lift. These improvements have increased the vertical from 470' to over 1,100'.

Founded in 1982 at Sunday River, MHS is a non-profit organization that provides free year-round adaptive recreation programs for children and adults with physical disabilities. Activities now take place throughout Maine and include alpine skiing, snowboarding, nordic skiing, snowshoeing, golf, paddling, and cycling.
