Experience the Christmas season in the postcard-perfect New England village of Bethel – shop locally, meet Santa, enjoy the lights, hop on a horse-drawn wagon ride, or take in a performance.  Check back often for updates.

Friday, November 29

Local Craft & Wares Fair - Get your holiday shopping done early by shopping locally and handmade! 9am-4pm at the Bethel Inn Resort's Conference Center.

Horsedrawn wagon rides through historic Bethel village. Free! Meet in front of the Chapman Inn on the corner of Church Street and Main St. 1-3pm. Sponsored by Smokin’ Good BBQ.

Saturday, November 30

Holiday Open House at Harvest Gold Gallery & Jewelry - Meet the artists, book-signing, refreshments. 1-5pm. 1082 Maine Street (Rt. 5), Center Lovell, ME.

Small Business Saturday - Bethel area businesses are part of a nationwide movement to shop with local small businesses whenever possible.  Look for blue balloons and welcome mats at participating businesses.  American Express customers can register to receive a $10 credit on their statements for making a qualified purchase.  Learn more here.

Rotary Country Breakfast - Benefits community scholarships and projects. $8/adults, $3/children. 7:30-11am. Ordway Hall, Gould Academy, Church Street, Bethel.

Tuesday, December 3

Artreach Jamboree & Student Art Sale Benefit -  Free event featuring a student art exhibit and sale, showcase of service-learning projects, and a Jamboree concert (6pm) with special performances from local professional musicians including Jewel Clark & Donnie Katlin, Richard Felt & Friends, Denny Breau, and more.  Refreshments will be provided, and all proceeds from the event will benefit the new Bethel animal shelter, "Heart of the Mountains".  5-8pm. Breakfast with Santa – Pancake breakfast with Santa followed by photos, silent auction, and a gently-used book sale. Proceeds benefit the 5th grade class trip. 8am-1pm, Crescent Park School, Crescent Lane, Bethel. .

Greens Sale, Crafts, & Cookie Walk -  9:30-11:30am. West Bethel Union Church, Rt. 2, West Bethel.

Annual Christmas Tea and Fair - Traditional tea, crafts, cookie walk, and more.  1-4pm.  West Parish Congregational Church, Church Street, Bethel.

Christmas at the Mason House - Enjoy music and refreshments in the 1813 Mason House period rooms, decorated in traditional mid-nineteenth century style and illuminated by candles. Free (donations appreciated). 3:30-6:30 pm. Bethel Historical Society,14 Broad St, Bethel.
