First Friday in May: Annual Awards Celebration & Silent Auction – The Bethel Area Chamber of Commerce shows appreciation for the people who make the Bethel area so special. Enjoy a fun night of celebration with a cocktail reception, awards ceremony, and silent auction at Mt. Abram Ski Area.
Third Friday in June: Trek Across Maine embarks from Sunday River in a 3-day, 180 mile cycling journey to Belfast. 2,000 cyclists and 750 volunteers raise money for the American Lung Association.
July 4: The Fourth of July Community Picnic & Concert at Bethel Historical Society – Outdoor concert by the fabulous Portland Brass Quintet.
First Saturday in July: Bethel Art Fair - Local artists, music, and performance on the Bethel Town Common.
Third Saturday in July: Molly Ockett Day - Bethel's big summer homecoming festival for over 50 years. Parade, road races, live music, kids’ entertainment, the famous frog jumping contest, fireworks, and craft, food, and community group vendors on the town common.
Third weekend in August: New England Trappers' Weekend - Trapping and hunting demonstrations, contests, music, and auction at Olsons' Furs.
Third Saturday in September: Bethel Harvestfest & Chowdah Cookoff - A classic fall festival on the town common with artists & crafters, chowder cook-off with over a dozen restaurants, Maine baked potatoes, apple pie contest, live music, wagon rides, and kids’ activities.
First weekend in October: Jeep Jamboree - Hundreds of Jeepers descend on Bethel to enjoy the trails during foliage season.
Columbus Day Weekend: Fall Festival & North American Wife-Carrying Championship at Sunday River - Blue Mountain Arts & Crafts Festival, live music, concerts, wagon rides & lots more.
Black Friday: Local Craft & Wares Fair - Shop locally with 35+ handmade craft vendors right in the village of Bethel. Christmas and home decor, jewelry, toys, accessories, art, natural bath & beauty products, and lots more. Enjoy a horse-drawn wagon ride around the village in the afternoon!
