Celebrating 154 Years in Business - WJ Wheeler

The W.J.Wheeler Insurance Agency is celebrating 100 years as a Maine Corporation and 154 years in business. And we’re throwing a party.

At 5pm on Thursday June 28^th at our South Paris location, Secretary of State Matthew Dunlop will be on hand to recognize the company for its longevity. The evening’s program will also include an open house and tour of our recently renovated offices and a $1000 Referral Rewards drawing. Light refreshments will be provided.

After the program ends, the agency’s monthly “Introduction to Medicare” seminar will be held at 6:30pm. All are welcome, and in particular, those turning 65 within the next 6 to 12 months.

William Jordan Wheeler founded the agency in 1864 in South Paris. The company moved into its current location in the Billings Block in Market Square in 1898 and incorporated in 1918. Today, Mr. Wheeler’s great-great-grandson, Michael Newsom, runs the agency.
