Fifteen-year-old American pianist Maxim Lando will be coming to Gould to perform on Monday, April 16 at 7:30 p.m. The recital will take place in Bingham Auditorium on the Gould campus. Gould pianists Gorsev Tepe ‘18 and Bella Wang ‘21 will also be featured.
Maxim loves to make people smile. His passion for classical music has already set him on an exciting path of performing. Maxim will also work with Gould pianists in a master class on Monday afternoon.
American pianist Maxim Lando has been described by Berkshire Fine Arts as having an “ever so clear approach to the keyboard, and the molding and shaping of phrases straight from the musical angels”. Maxim’s concerts and collaborations have recently brought him to the international stage, with invitations to perform spanning from across the globe.
Performing as a duo with celebrity pianist Lang Lang, Maxim made additional critically acclaimed debuts this season with Pittsburgh Symphony, Toronto Symphony, Vancouver Symphony, Hawaii Symphony, and China NCPA Orchestra.
Other recent performance highlights include a concert with Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Vladimir Fedoseyev (televised nationally on TV Kultura in Moscow), debut concerts with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra (televised on First Prize: Intermezzo with Arie Vardi), collaborations with violinists Julian Rachlin and Daniel Hope on the Stars and Rising Stars series in Munich, and a performance for the historic Grand Opening of Steinway and Sons in Beijing. Maxim has also performed with the Russian National Orchestra, Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, Kazakh State Philharmonic Orchestra, among many others.
