The Oxford County Wellness Collaborative gathers twice a year to share important updates and connect with members old and new. We also stoke the fires of inspiration that keep us committed to working together to improve health and wellness in Oxford County.
This gathering will be held at the Woodstock Seventh Day Adventist Church in Bryant Pond, which is only 30 minutes from Rumford, and 20 minutes from Bethel or the Oxford Hills area.
For this gathering, we'll focus on the work going on in our schools and communities to address Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and build resilience. ACEs are recognized nationally as a looming public health threat, and Oxford County's progressive approach to this topic is gaining attention.
Informative speakers include members from OCWC's Community Safety Workgroup as well as a member from the Oxford County Resiliency Project. We would also like to take the opportunity to present and acknowledge the Maine's 2018 County Health Rankings. Oxford County was ranked 6th out of 16 counties, the county's highest ranking yet!
As always, free childcare will be provided. If you're bringing children, please call Emily at 207-739-6222 to let her know how many children to expect. We're happy to offer transportation help for anyone who would like it. We can offer mileage reimbursement, and will have forms for this at the event. We can also look for opportunities to share a ride to/from the event. If you need help getting there, please call Emily at 207-739-6222.
