Rug Hooking & Book Signing with Elizabeth Miller – Mill Brook Craft Series
The Parris House Wool Works website states, “This is your home for North American rug hooking, fiber art and craft, and the modern practice of heritage skills.” Elizabeth Miller, owner and artisan, will join us at MBHS to present just that as well as sign copies of her new book Heritage Skills for Contemporary Life: Seasons at the Parris House. During the presentation, Beth will reveal a newly finished hooked rug and demonstrate this fun historic craft.
Parris House Wool Works in Paris, Maine is a center for all things rug hooking, fiber art, and other art, crafting and heritage skills with a mission to perpetuate artisanship into the next century through teaching and public outreach. Heritage Skills for Contemporary Life is separated into seasonal sections and includes historical context and homestead related activities for each season, plus instructions for a set of related projects and recipes.
Join us for this free presentation in the Twitchell Education Center and pick up a copy of Beth’s fabulous new book while you’re here.
