Santa Sunday at Sunday River Resort

Celebrate the arrival of winter and the upcoming holiday season with more than 250 Santas cruising down to South Ridge. All money raised goes towards the River Fund. Santas must be in full Santa-attire. This signature Sunday River event kicks off the holiday season in style.

How does it work?

250 pre-registered Santas arrive at the resort in full attire, beard included. Not only is this event photo-worthy and has been featured on the likes of the Travel Channel, but it's for a good cause too. At the last event, the in-hand donations made by participating Santas helped raise over $3,000 for the River Fund, a non-profit organization that supports youth education and recreation. 

All pre-registered participants can check-in on Sunday, December 5, between 7:30-10:30AM at Discovery Center next to the South Ridge Lodge. Santas who participate in the 11AM photo shoot will receive an additional lift ticket valid through mid-December. The photo shoot will take place slopeside at South Ridge and will last approximately 45 minutes. Pre-registered participants must arrive at check-in wearing all of the following items: a red Santa hat with white pompom, a red Santa jacket, red Santa pants, a Santa beard.  The lift ticket you receive at check-in is only valid until 11AM. To continue skiing or riding for the day, you will need to show up at the scheduled photo shoot at 11AM slopeside at South Ridge dressed in your Santa attire. At the conclusion of the photo shoot, we will all go up South Ridge Express then ski down Broadway (green trail). After the parade down Broadway, we will validate your ticket to ski/ride for the rest of the day.

Spectators should also get to South Ridge by 11AM to get a good view of the Santas.
