BANC is pleased to offer four workshops covering a range of fundraising and development topics led by Jeff Candura of Candura Consulting. Read on for information and to register for one or more of these high-quality interactive training sessions.
This session is going to focus on demystifying development and fundraising. We'll go through some nuts and bolts basics including how to make an effective ask and how to steward donors. The session will also give you some clear strategies to bring back to your organization. The goal is for you to leave more confident and knowledgeable about development than when you walked in.
How do you turn that $500 gift into a $5,000 or $50,000 gift? What does it mean to qualify or cultivate a donor? What do major donors want? This session will focus on how to develop major donors. We'll talk about the role of research and preparation and dive deep into how to make an effective ask. We want you to leave excited to start working with major donors in your organization!
What is the role of the board in fundraising? How do you build an annual giving program? What does segmentation mean? What are planned gifts (and how can my organization get some)? What is a Giving Circle? This session is for those who are already confident in their ability to raise funds but want to learn how their organization can take the next step. We'll go beyond the basics and leave with some concrete ideas on how to improve the development operations in your organization.
No, we don't want to turn you into the Wolf of Wall Street or a used car salesman. But the for-profit world has passed the philanthropic world by, and we need to catch up. Let's explore how best practices at leading businesses can translate into your organization. What can the user interface on Amazon or Wayfair teach us about attitudes towards online giving? How can we use Facebook as effectively as a business? What can hotel or airline loyalty clubs teach us about donor engagement and cultivation? What can I learn about non-profit culture from companies like Netflix or Hubspot? You'll leave looking at each business you work with as a treasure of ideas of what to do (and not to do) in your organization.
