• Health Information Management Tech (Full Time)

    • Position Summary
      • Primary responsibilities involve assembling, monitoring, maintaining, retrieving, and filing patient information in the electronic health record in accordance with established Health Information Management (HIM) policies and procedures.  Release of information, HIPAA compliant.  Electronic submission of birth certification to State of New Hampshire, Vital Records.  Maintenance of Master Patient Index.
    • Job Requirements
      • Education, Required Licenses/Certifications:
        • High school graduate with courses in word processing and business English is required. 
        • Preferred: AHIMA trained in Health Information Management or enrolled in courses seeking AHIMA credentials.

      • Work Experience, Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
        • Computer experience is required. 
        • A good command of grammar and spelling is necessary. 
        • Must possess strong verbal and written communications skills. 
        • Medical terminology is preferred. 
        • Prior experience in a hospital medical records department is preferred. 
        • Familiarity with computer applications required. 
        • Must have technical aptitude and a willingness to learn software applications used at AVH.
