    • About

The Funky Red Barn closed in June 2019.

WAHOO! Sunday River fans has chosen us Best Late Night Spot for the third year! In Bethel, just off Main street behind Key Bank and Nabos. Our staff is committed to putting the FUN in FUNKY. Known far and wide for fantastic Prime Rib, we also serve a full menu of mouthwatering cuisine from crisp salads, pastas, to the freshest seafood, burgers, and pizza. Ice cold beers on tap and a full bar. Try us once...you'll be back twice!

Originally on Cross Street as a corn cannery, the Funky has a history dating way back. The unpretentious structure was moved to 19 Summer Street back in 1932, and had been a home to businesses such as Harrington's Feed and Grain Co., and Western Maine Supply. In 2005, the Funky came to life in an old barn full of good karma and high spirit!

DJ's, live entertainment, parquet dance floor with laser light show second to none, pool tables, juke box, video games, big screen plasma TV, and wood-burned game tables of chess, checkers, and cribbage, and more make us the funkiest place on the planet in the Bethel, ''the greatest ski town in the universe.''
