Originally on Cross Street as a corn cannery, the Modern Barn has a history dating way back. The unpretentious structure was moved to 19 Summer Street back in 1932, and had been a home to businesses such as Harrington's Feed and Grain Co., and Western Maine Supply.


Modern Barn is honored to receive a Wine Spectator 2021 Restaurant Award of Excellence. Our Wine Room - features a curated collection of 175 bottles of wine, most available by the glass. Modern Barn also offers an impressive liquor collection, craft beers and contemporary cocktails.
