The Bethel Area Nonprofit Collaborative (BANC) is pleased to present a full-day workshop on Telling Impactful Stories with facilitator Leigh Tillman. “Nonprofit staff and volunteers, as well as community members, share personal and professional stories every day. This workshop explores how to tell those stories in a way that is engaging, effective, meaningful, and fun,” says BANC’s Facilitator, Amy Scott. The workshop takes place on Thursday, May 31st from 9:00AM—3:00PM at the Mahoosuc Mountain Lodge in Newry.
Mahoosuc Heart & Soul is co-sponsoring the event.
Based on the success of Tillman’s storytelling workshop offered in Newry in 2016, the ongoing need for organizations and individuals to practice and hone this valuable communication skill, and the partnership with Mahoosuc Heart & Soul, BANC is anticipating a full and diverse roster of participants. One 2016 participant shared that “Leigh Tillman's workshop on storytelling was the best I have done because it was hands-on from beginning to end. We had opportunities to be critiqued and then to improve, based on others' responses. I came away pumped to use these ideas and techniques everywhere.” Another shared that “telling our stories, whether personal, professional, or a mix, gives foundation to the decisions we make, how we choose to interact with others, and purpose in what we do.” The workshop will focus on storytelling techniques as well as applications in work and community engagement.
Community members, nonprofit professionals, and volunteers are invited to register. The fee to participate is $25. Lunch and snacks are included. Should cost present a barrier to participation, please inquire about reduced or waived fee options. The registration deadline is May 24, 2018. On-site lodging and breakfast are available at the participant’s expense. A single bunk with linen is $50, or $40 if you provide your own sleeping bag. Breakfast is $12 per person. For either there is an 8% meal and lodging tax. Please make your reservations by contacting the Mahoosuc Mountain Lodge at (207) 824-2073, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
