We're super psyched to bring back Snowmaggedon this winter--and even more psyched to be part of the Maine Winter Fat Bike Series! We'll still have great course offerings, fabulous prizes, and a fantastic beer & lasagna lunch...but you'll also be able to compete in five other races across the state, should you accept the challenge. Two lengths/times are offered: Women's and Men's A race will take about two hours, and be roughly between 12-16 miles. Women's, Men's B and youth race will take about one hour and be roughly between 6-8 miles. Note: mileage and course will be dependent on conditions. We want to put on a great race, and will do everything we can to make that happen. No one wants a slogfest, so choose your preferred time, rather than distance. Don't want to ride more than an hour? No problem! Choose the B race. Two hours sound about right? The A race is for you. We have a fantastic singletrack fat bike system that crosses Nordic trails from time to time. The course will be planned around these trails but may include the wide Nordic trails as well. Everything is subject to change due to conditions. Find out more and sign up at BikeReg ...read more

New England Women's XC Ski Day was started in 2002 by former Olympian Trina Hosmer of Stowe, VT. Trina was inspired by her ''sisters in skiing'' in Anchorage, Alaska, who started the Alaska Ski for Women in 1997. Like the Alaskans' original event, Women's XC Ski Day chooses a non-profit women's organization to benefit, and gathers as many women as it can for a day of skiing which includes a lunch and a raffle. The highlight of the day is learn-to-ski clinics with female instructors; the emphasis being on relaxed, fun learning with other women. Trina hopes that Women's Ski Day helps bring more women together for this wonderful sport and lifestyle. ...read more
