Hand-Sewn and Home Grown: Quilt Workshop with Zak Foster
Take a break from the electric hum of the sewing machine and settle in to hand-sew for a little while. In this two-day workshop, there are no rules and no patterns. We’ll share our fabrics and our stories as we create one-of-a-kind quilted wall-hangings and explore methods of improv-piecing that will help us hone our artistic voice and discover a quieter space within.
We will assemble our own communal fabric stash out of gently-used textiles, so please bring something to share with the group: old clothes, bed sheets, and tablecloths are all ideal.
We study the work of inspiring improv quilters to help us gain clarity on our own sense of color harmony and balanced composition. In making this wall-hanging, you will gain the skills you need to complete larger quilting projects.
This two-day workshop costs $125, and no quilting experience is necessary.
Space limited to 14 people. Register here.
